Fuzzy Wuzzies Tags: One Stamp Set Two Different Looks
Hi there, Sam on the blog today. When the Cozy Corner Collection released, the Fuzzy Wuzzies Stamp set was by far my absolute favourite. The little fuzzy birds make the perfect focal point for a tag and with so many great other stamp sets with small sentiments you can knock out some tags in no time.
If you wish to recreate the tags I'v made, you will need Fuzzy Wuzzies set and Mixed Tags. For sentiments and texture layers I used the following products: Texturize It, Texturize It II, Morning Brew, It’s Just a Number and and LDRS Hybrid Inks. Otherwise dig through your stash to see what small sentiments and layering texture stamps you have.
I used a wide selection of LDRS Hybrid Inks in the following colours: Olive branch, In Your Face Orange, Prickly Pear, Lantern Yellow, Peachy Keen, Coffee Bean, Mrs Periwinke, Plum Crazy, Boysenberry Blast, Pink Tutu and Little Boy Blue.
Get the look:
Creating these cards is as simple as die cutting the tags and mix and match stamping the Fuzzy birds. Playing around I started out by creating some clean and simple looks with simple stamping and embellishing from my stash. (The little glass eyes were given to me from a friend - they are doll maker eyes.) My second set of tags I switched the look up by cutting the tags twice and then overlaying the cut down Kraft tags on top of the white and adding texture.
A Few Tips:
- To give the fuzzy wuzzies more depth I stamped first with one colour and then I brushed a slightly darker ink along the edge of the stamp and stamped a second time.
- Stamp the feet first in orange and then heat emboss with clear. Then when you stamp your fuzzy wuzzy bird any overlapping ink can be wiped away.
- Don't be afraid to add in simple drawings. I wanted something for my bird to sit on so I drew in a branch. It isn't perfect with everything else going on, no one will notice my imperfect branch : )
Which style of tags do you like best? The clean look? Or the added texture and layered Kraft?
